Nectar Valley is a young 4-piece string band with a musically diverse background and an insatiable energy. Originating from Owensboro, Kentucky, the group initially formed from a handful of friends picking around and jamming for fun. Now based out of Louisville, Kentucky, the group has evolved into what it is today with Landon Kotarek on the mandolin and vocals, Tristan Howard on the guitar and vocals, Austin Quinton on the banjo and vocals, and Ronnie Saxon on the upright bass and vocals.
Each member has a different musical background and brings their own influences such as Tristan, who has been playing blues music since he was a kid. They take influence from bluegrass, folk, psychedelic rock, blues, and jam bands. Alongside this array of influences, they are known for their dynamic energy, spirited jam sessions, and helping support an amazing community of friends and musicians at their former personal venue, Steven House in Louisville, Kentucky.
The group has been featured on the line up of some well known local music festivals such as Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Festival, Birds of a Feather Music & Arts Festival, Terrapin Hill Family Reunion Music Festival, and First City Music Festival. In 2022, they released their debut self-titled album “Nectar Valley” featuring their most popular single “Kentucky.” They recently released their newest single “Clueless” on the One Shot, One Mic, One Song, Top Hill Recording Podcast that features catchy harmonies and playful back and forth solos that the boys love.
