Building Rockets is rooted deep in Appalachia. Members include Emily Jamison (Greenup, Kentucky), MacLean James (Ironton, Ohio), JD Thomas (Ironton, Ohio), and Jeremy Roberts (Huntington, West Virginia), Phil Summers (Barboursville, WV). Their debut EP, Space Camp, tells their stories of family, love, life, and loss through edgy, genre-crossing musicality. Influenced by their country roots, rock rebellion, the blues, and everything in between every song brings something different.

Hailing from Charleston, West Virginia, singer-songwriter-guitarist J. Hatfield blends folk and country songwriting with alt-rock guitars and a dash of post-rock textures. J. Hatfield draws on influences ranging from Turnpike Troubadours and Horse Feathers to Pearl Jam and Slowdive. With a core band consisting of Tim Dorsey on bass, Justin Puett on Keys, and Eric Robbins on drums, J. Hatfield uses lyrical storytelling and musical dynamics to engross listeners in the tales of various characters.
